Instead of doing 5 week courses I have opted to run 'Pay as you Go' classes during the winter period. As I'm using outdoor facilities it's very hard to plan courses as the weather in Melbourne is so unpredictable. On top of that, this means you don't have to keep a set amount of Saturday mornings free in your calendar.
With Pay as you Go you can choose to come to whichever class you like or your dog needs. You can repeat classes and still expect to learn new things, we will build on skills that you have learned in a previous session.
Classes will be held in either Point Cook or Werribee, so make sure you check the description.
Class fees will vary between $15 & $40 depending on the lesson.
To find out which classes are on and when check the 'Book Appointment' Tab or for events on my Facebook page!
Puppy school is for any vaccinated pup up until 6 months old. We will work on basic obedience skills such as sit, bed, place, drop, recall, loose lead walking whilst being surrounded by other pups (which makes it a whole lot harder).
In beginners obedience we will work on sit, drop, loose lead walking, leave it, recall, place and introduction to markers.
During Advanced obedience we’re going to step it up. We’ll work on different positions such as front, middle and heel. We’ll add platforms, targeting, pivoting, sending the dog away to a target, out of sight stays, long distance recall and much more.
During 3D Class we are working on general obedience skills but stepping it up and ensuring the behaviours last when we make things harder for your dog by adding duration (the amount of time they have to hold a position), by adding distance (giving the command from further away or walking away from the dog whilst in position) and distraction (anything we can think of that’s motivating for the dog that may make them break position).
Have a dog that forgets what his commands mean the moment there is other stuff going on? This is the one for them!
During impulse control class we are doing everything to teach your dog to make the right choice and WAIT until you tell them otherwise. We will make use of food, toys and other dogs and REALLY proof those behaviours and make you have a dog that will listen when it matters most!
In the confident dog class we are working on making your dog overcome some insecurities and be confident around objects and sounds. We’ll use agility equipment, obstacles, and play sounds that dogs might find a bit scary sometimes. Anything that your dog may find a bit challenging and will have a fun time building their confidence.
Would you like to take your dog for a relaxing walk but have a dog that pulls like a sledding dog? In this class our main focus is walking nicely. We’ll go through using the right tools for the right dog. I’m also going to introduce you to several strategies on how to achieve loose lead walking with your dog.
Want to give your dog the ultimate freedom? Recall class will focus solely on teaching your dog to come back to you. We’ll start with little increments and slowly adding more distractions, more distance and games to get your dog to come back to you, every time!
In this class your dog and you form the ultimate team, to be the very best! This is THE class for people who love to WIN!
Your dog will need to have the basics of sit, drop and stay. During this class we work on obedience through competition games only. Think spoon races, obstacle runs, musical chairs, the freeze game.. You name it, we play it! Winner takes it all!
Work with your dog through a range of puzzles and activities that are focused on using their brain. This class is not about obedience, it’s about enriching your dog’s life in ways that many people forget: by activating the mind.
Have a dog that LOVES tug? Are you interested in GRC but not really sure what it is about? During Drive Work Class we are working on really using your dogs biological needs. We’ll work on the flirt pole and springpole, we’re going to use the parachute. We’ll teach you how to make tug into a next level game. This class is great for bully breeds, but also working line german shepherds, field bred labs etc. The dogs that really NEED to work.
The social walk is a group walk. We’ll go to a different area and have a 30 - 60 min walk. This is where you can show of your skills and really work on walking nicely with your dog in the company of other dogs. If you do this regularly, your dog will become more and more relaxed with being around other dogs and being focused on you instead. This is only suitable for clients I have met and trained with before to ensure everyone’s safety in the walk.
